The Networks

The Dance Research Matters (DRM) ecosystem is a meshwork of AHRC-funded Dance Research Matters Networks connecting researchers, academic institutions, professional industry organisations, community groups, independent practitioners and organisations connected to dance research and practice.

It should be noted that the Networks are not fully representative of the entire dance research ecosystem. However, it will contribute to better understanding of the wider dance research ecosystem, the role of the AHRC funded Networks in the larger ecosystem, and the changes the Networks create in other academic disciplines and beyond academia.

Digital Black Dance Ecologies

The network’s primary goal is to centre the embodied epistemologies of digital Black dance across the intersections of social and environmental injustices. Additionally, it seeks to catalyse digital Black dance research and practice by nurturing creativity, community, and collaboration among artists and researchers within and beyond the field.

As part of our work over the next 18 months, Digital Black Dance Ecologies will offer opportunities for artist development and mentorship for early career researchers in the Black dance community. For ongoing updates on the project, events, partners and opportunities please visit our project page.
